Attention, derrière la pochette la plus WTF de l'année se révèle un chef d’oeuvre séraphique ici avec ce « Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skine » d' Eartheater.
On entre en effet ici dans une zone de turbulences émotionnelles fortes pour l’âme tant les highs sont nombreux: le bizarre et dissonant “Metallic Taste of Patience”, le poétique et lyrique “Below The Clavicle” (que l’on croît provenir d’une banshee qui serait restée finalement humaine), la pop céleste de “Volcano”, l’étrangement sensuel “Fantasy Collusion” (qui m’a fait penser aux livre/Film “Les Lois de l’Attraction”, allez savoir pourquoi…), le très ‘Soap-and-Skin-ien’ “Bringing Me Back”, “Diamond in the Bedrock”, soit le “Diamonds (in the Sky)” d’une Rihanna qui aurait trouvé la grâce divine, et la boucle du somptueux est bouclée lorsque le terrassant mais magnifique “Faith Consuming Hope” répond à l’inaugural et troublant “Airborne Ashes”.
Cet album est FOU de beauté et absolument déconcertant, l’une des grosses claques de 2020 voire plus. S’y plonger dans le noir au casque, c’est automatiquement se faire emporter. Ce n’est plus de la musique humaine, mais celle d’une créature d’essence divine. Miraculeux...
