With nods to Echo and the Bunnymen at their poppiest, a little bit of China Crisis and a small dose of Duran Duran at that brief period when they weren't shit, 'Lusts' made for splendid euphoric alternative pop/rock entertainment at the Louis tonight.
The venue may have only been half full but the kids danced and sung themselves hoarse and you'll be hard pressed to hear any better pop songs this year than 'mouthwash' or 'temptation' (which seems to always be on made in Chelsea, a programme whose crapness is diametrically opposed to its invariably sleek soundtracking).
And I should also mention it was an impressive curtain raising set from Bath based Swimming Girls as well, though I'd have liked 'em to have had a bit more riff based layering, the nods to Siouxsie were good and I've not seen a band like them since I last saw Les Panties in Bruxelles.
