RIP Matt Irving, bass guitar player for Manfred Mann's Earth Band between 1981 and 1986!

L'Ecossais Matt Irving, décédé ce 3 avril, est sorti connue pour sa période Manfred Mann's Earth Band, il tenait la basse.
Il s'entend sur les Earth Band albums ' Somewhere In Africa' et 'Live In Budapest'.
Il a commencé sa carrière en tant que claviériste au sein de The Dream Police qui deviendra The Crocodiles.
Ensuite il rejoint Longdancer et The Babys.
Comme session musician il aura tourné avec  Ann Peebles.
Avant de s'associer au MMEB il fera partie du Zaine Griff Band et des Vampire Bats.
Après l'épisode Manfred Mann, il reprend ses activités de studio, travaillant notamment avec The Lords of the New Church, Squeeze, Chris Rea, Paul Young ou Roger Waters.
Dernier fait d'armes, il fait partie de Los Pacaminos, un tex-mex band incluant quelques pointures: Paul Young, Drew Barfield  Melvin Duffy  à la pedal steel , Jamie Moses (Tom Jones/Queen/Pretenders), Steve Greetham (Joan Armatrading/Julia Fordham) ou Mark Pinder (Zaine Griff/Alison Moyet).
