Décès du batteur et producer Tim Mooney, le 15 juin 2012

Tim Mooney
October 6, 1958 - June 13, 2012!

" He was absolutely instrumental in whatever sound we had. His style was absolutely unique and as an artist no one could match what he did. He was a good friend to so many people and will be missed. What an absolute loss. I wish all the best to his wife Jude and his daughter Dixie. I have spent all day in a fog thinking about him."

En 1978, Tim Mooney fait partie d'un des premiers ( short-lived) bands punk de la scène de San Francisco: The Sleepers!
Quelques EP's, singles, un album 'Painless Nights'.
Plus tard on le retrouve au sein d'autres punk combos californiens: Toiling Midgets ou Negative Trend.
Avant de rejoindre American Music Club ( il est crédité sur l'album 'San Francisco') en 1994, il s'essaye à la production et  joue avec différents groupes.
Mark Eitzel dissout A M C après ce fait d'arme, le groupe se reformera en 2003, Tim Mooney participera à l'enregistrement de ' Love Songs for Patriots'.
Entre 1994 et 2003, Tim n'a pas chômé, il sévit e.a. chez Torcher , Hannah Marcus, Chuck Prophet (  'The Hurting Business' et 'No other love') , Mark Kozelek des Red House Painters, Dakota Suite... pour ensuite être embrigadé par le formidable Sun Kil Moon, toujours avec Mark Kozelek.
Après cet épisode il se consacrera davantage au travail de production ou de sound engineer ( Enablers, Whitey on the Moon, Facts about Funerals..)

En 2012, il tient les baguettes sur l'album 'Mutt' de Cory Branan, album qu'il mixe.
